Brilliant place. Friendly service spot on. Fine dining excellent. Intend to return when warmer! Glenapp 'full Scottish' breakfast a real treat.

Stayed for two nights with our dogs in November. Service impeccable, gorgeous location and the food incredible. How the chef was able to get mushroom ( Hen of the Wood) to taste like that, I have no idea! Dogs loved it, especially as they got the biggest pigs in blankets at breakfast each day! Hope to return.

I tried emailing them regarding questions relating to accessibility for wheelchair users. There has no response since email 1 week or so ago. Either they are just terrible with service or they simply do not wish to deal with a wheelchair user. Inclusivity at its finest! (sarcasm)

There are not enough stars to rate Glenapp castle! By ordinary standards, it is worth at least 10 stars… This was our first stop in a three week tour of Scotland. We stayed in several more castles on our trip, but none was a patch on this one. From the very moment we arrived, we truely felt like royalty. My only regret is that we just stayed one night. Very tempted to go back for a week!

Their service is unmatched. We attended a wedding there and the wedding party arranged for a bus transport from Edinburg to Glennapp Castle for 42 of the guests (including my husband and myself). About a 1/2 hour from the castle, our bus breaks down. The staff put out an "all hands on deck" and sent every car and shuttle they had at their disposal to pick us up. They rooms are luxurious and service exemplary. You feel as if you've been invited to visit some lord's country estate. The staff are welcoming, friendly, efficient, professional, and one was delightfully "irreverent" at the perfect moment (we REALLY liked her). WORTH EVERY PENNY/PENCE!

Sumptuous luxury in beautiful surroundings. Autumn colours a bonus. Had a lunch booking. Appetisers good, bread needs attention. Whilst both tasted goo the focaccia was dry and the truffled bread underproved, a little doughy. Cod was very tasty and cooked perfectly, good flavours in the sauce and accompaniments, however I am not a fan of that "torched" finish. For me the plain white of fish would be better. The duck was beautifully done, again excellent flavours. Dessert had great contrasts in texture and again good flavours. Decent coffee and petit fours to finish.

Another 10/10 for Relais & Chateaux. Absolutely incredible stay all around - the service, rooms, grounds, food and activities cannot be beat. The castle is obviously stunning, grand but cozy and warm. Our room which I believe is the “lowest tier” was one of the biggest hotel rooms I’ve ever stayed in! The staff are all so friendly and helpful, I’d love to name them all but Benjamin, head of house, stands out as being very kind, helpful and welcoming. We also crossed paths with the owner several times who stopped to chat at length and made sure we had everything we needed, even bringing us out hats when it began to rain while we were outside enjoying an activity. The food is superb — can’t think of one thing I didn’t want seconds of. Activities are endlessly enjoyable - we chose the falconry, clay pigeon shooting and a stand out - stargazing where an astronomer led us on an exploration of the night sky with an enormous telescope. We even saw the Northern Lights, a dream come true. I can’t recommend Glenapp enough and hope to return one day.

IAfternoon tea, fabulous, and the setting is to be experienced. The staff are extremely attentive, highly recommended,stayed here for anniversary, wow, rooms beautiful,I and spotless, had a seven course taster meal, absolutely amazing, best meal I have ever had, presentation amazing, almost to nice to eat, staff were so attentive, will definitely be back 😀.

Over the years I have dined at Glenapp Castle for special occasions and stayed overnight for a birthday surprise. The magic starts at the gateway to the grounds followed by the drive up the avenue, an hors d'ouvre to the imposing facade of Glenapp Castle. Visiting Glenapp Castle is like stepping into a pair of luxury slippers. After a warm welcome, you are led into an elegantly furnished Scottish Country house. When I stayed over, I was served afternoon tea on reception and had the freedom of the extensive grounds to explore. There were only three guests, my party of two and a merchant banker on his way to a fishing trip up north. We were seriously outnumbered by the friendly attentive staff. Dinner was a semi-formal affair with exquisite cuisine served by knowledgeable staff. The room on the ground floor had a view of the Italian Garden at the rear of the castle. After a very comfortable night, we were served an impeccably cooked Scottish breakfast. The whole stay was an immensely enjoyable experience which I would love to repeat.

I had a very pleasant & good night sleep in Glenapp Castle. I love the bathroom & bedroom in Poppy Wyndham. It was very comfortable & cold at night.

This hotel & it's staff are beyond wonderful. We had such a fantastic experience at this hotel. Hotel manager Benjamin was a gracious helpful host. The food was fantastic, all the staff were wonderful. The rooms were very comfortable. The grounds were amazing. Staying here was one of the more memorable parts of our U.K. trip, worth it in every way.
